Would you want the USS Starship Enterprise hanging on your Christmas tree?

Behhhh. Well, some of my friends (as well as department stores and the White House, of course) have these perfectly coiffed trees. So lovely and all together. I want one too. I love beauty and class. However, I’ve thrown that over, for all of these years, for all of the school-made Christmas decorations that my kids have made throughout the years, which I save year after year (what comes to mind first is a construction paper chain….down to only 3 links…that one of the kids made probably 17 years ago, in kindergarten, which continues to make it’s appearance on my trees year after year) so my trees would be defined more as a “Cluster” than “Classy!” However, kids are grown, and I’m downsizing. I still have the “important” decorations (including the construction paper links) but….beauty is starting to phase its way in for the first time.

Well, on Friday my husband came home from his home town, 200 miles away, for the first time in a month (His dad’s still in the hospital, so he’s pretty much camped out there.) Well, tonight, after Rick left for Pittsburgh, and his Dad again, I noticed a box that said it contained a Christmas ornament replica of the USS Starship Enterprise sitting on the table. I was like, “Oh no. All my hopes and dreams of class and beauty in my decorations, going the way of The USS Enterprise?! Oh no! Whatever shall I do???” Because…I don’t know where it came from or….is it from his family? Or is it from McDonalds? I just don’t know! Haven’t had a chance to ask him about it….

Anyway…would you describe your Christmas Tree as a “Cluster” or a “Classic?”

Mine is now a Classic Cluster…..
