Does an autos tires make a stopping difference?

Two identical vehicles, weighing the same, on a concrete road have identical tires, except one vehicles tires are wider than the other. both are traveling at 50 mph and both hit the brakes at the same time. which vehicle has a greater stopping ability…..the vehicle with the wide tires or the vehicle with the narrow tires?
