What does this dream mean (see details)

So last night I had this dream that I was dating this guy. It’s a guy I know, and he is a total tool. I hold absolutely no attraction to this person, so why was I dating him in my dream instead of my current boyfriend? Maybe this doesn’t mean anything, but I’m very curious, because later in the dream, the tool guy transformed into my now boyfriend, which really confuses me.:S What do you think this means?
