Are there any cheap yet effective methods for halting or slowing the fading of spray paint on clothing?

i am trying to create some custom clothing items…i have matte spray paint, cardboard to prevent bleed through, spray adhesive to hold stencils in place… but my designs seem to fade with only a wash or two

any tips…any methods, any help at all

p.s. fabric spray paint sucks, cant get the same or even similar effect needed for graffiti style designs…so that is not an option
