What's wrong with my tattoo?

I had a piece done about 6 years ago. Just in the last couple of days, it’s swollen and feels like a fresh tat. I thought maybe I’m rejecting the ink (all black, and I have black in other spots), but given the circumstances, it seems very unlikely. Does anybody else have any thoughts??
