Any suggestions for a book or software for retirement planning?

Been working with an investment counselor who did a monetary projection for me that was useful, but want to do some independent research before committing real money. Have heard people often don’t expect to live as long as they eventually do and I don’t want to outlive my ability to support myself. In this case, planning early to make sure I don’t end up looking for work when I’m 75 sounds like a really wise thing – doesn’t it?
