What are some examples of Republicans pre-emptively not cooperating with Obama?

I know that no judge besides Sotomayor has been confirmed yet (all others threatened with a filibuster). I also have this memory that Obama appointed a Republican to some advisory position or committee and he (the Republican) withdrew after his party told him to. I take these things as meaning that the Republicans decided on a strategy (long ago) to scuttle all of this administrations efforts in order to win future elections, on the argument that Obama hasn’t succeeded in “changing the tone in Washington,” or getting done those things he tried to get one (i.e. healthcare).

Can you give me any other examples of this kind of behavior? I’d be extremely grateful for citations as well.
