Is it rude to sleep at the dinner table when out to dinner with a group of friends?

I smoked some pot last night then went out to a midscale restaurant with my husband and some friends. I fell asleep at the table for about 5–10 min. Friends say this was rude, but I have always been of the notion that “dinner should be a relaxing time”. This was said to me by a french waiter at a restaurant that served the best dinner I have ever eaten. Anyways, my friends knew I was high and I really was enjoying myself. I just needed a nap. was I wrong?
