Anyone know InDesign?

I’m trying to format several artists statement documents at work, and I need to insert a solid black line between two sections of writing. Anyone know an easy way to do this? So far i have just hand drawn a line with the line tool. I mean, it’s pretty easy doing it that way, but I wasn’t sure if there’s a way to automatically insert a line.
