Can a broken nose cause head aches for years after?

Asked by yoshiboshi (359points) April 4th, 2010

So, this question is about my boyfriend. He broke his nose many years ago, I would say about 5 years ago or so. Not sure exactly. Well, he says that ever since then, he has had nose pain in his right nostril but none as severe as it is now. He slept on his right nostril one day, and all this pressure made it hard for him to breath afterward. Now, ever since that day, he has been getting this really bad head ache/pressure on the right side of his head, behind his eyes, ear, and into his right shoulder. He says it doesn’t throb or pulsate, but unsure if whether it is a migraine or not. It has been this way for weeks now, I would say. Nothing so far has alleviated his pain. It has been constant.

Any one out there can help to shed some light on this situation. He will see a doctor, but he’s gotta get some other things dealt with first.
