How can I not fall asleep while drinking?

Well I am going to some friends’ huge party. Needless to say, there will a lot alcohol. My problem is that I tend to get very sleepy within the first hour of my first drink. I want to enjoy the entire party and ya know.. not get messed with.I was wondering if there are any ways for me to keep from falling a sleep?
