Why do Talkative people assume everyone can benefit from going back to school?
Everyone always says “Go back to school so you can get a better job”. I have a temp job now, but it may end. So i have to start looking for something else.
I HAVE experience going to University. I graduated by a miracle, you could say, because actually I struggled to death. I have trouble with speaking and understanding when people speak fast or use a lot of vocab.
POINT IS,, College/adult ed/whatever, is made by outgoing/talkative type people FOR outgoing/talkative people. They’re not gonna slow down and help you just cause you have a slow brain. for that you would have to get private tutors or something but only the rich people do that.
Aside from learning disabilities and speech impediments, I have no social skills, i’m antisocial and have social phobia but college staff expects students to be the same as the majority( confident, talkative).
A confident outgoing Medical Records/Medical whatever/Computer graphics/design etc teacher is not going to slow down just for a person like me. And yet that person(like me) will just struggle to catch up and learn half-ass….and fail the classes( like i did in University (computer science) ) . It took me like a year, way after i left that school, learning the same stuff on my own, to finally understand it but i did.
That university goes by 3 month quarters. Sooo fast, and so much to learn. I have a very slow mind, how can you expect me to learn that fast?
So, is there something I can learn on my own that will be useful for getting a job and that companies will recognize even if i didn’t study it in a school? For me, learning by myself is better. Schools are not for me.
I’m in my early 30’s but i have some mental/development/speech(i don’t know what to call it) problem so I’m very very different from other 30 year olds.
