What do you think (something that concerns me, politics)?

Watching the news and listening to people talk (even people I know on Facebook of all places), I’m seeing a lot of people call president Obama and the federal government fascist, tyrannical, etc. I personally think that these claims are ridiculous, and drummed up by the far right basically being stupid. But there are people who take this seriously. But anyways…

I think most of us would agree that Abraham Lincoln is one of the best (if not the best) American heroes/presidents (he’s usually ranked #1 or #2 in polls of historians ranking presidents). He freed the slaves, saved the Union, etc. Well in his time he was viewed as the most liberal president in history. He won less than 40% of the popular vote, and the conservative Democrats (creepy that they were the conservatives huh?) were split between a super conservative candidate and a more moderate candidate…... Do you see where this is going? With the ever splitting polarized Republican party and groups like the Tea party….

The thing that really bothers me is all the people calling Obama a tyrant. Granted it took place 145 year ago, but the words shouted by Booth after jumping from the presidents balcony seat.. “Sic Semper Tyrannis!” ...... for those not fluent in Latin “Thus unto Tyrants” ......
