Should I file married, filing seperately or jointly?

I am in the middle of a divorce and don’t trust my husband. Further, we have paid no taxes all year since he has his own business. All the income in the last year was made by him. He wants me to pay half of the taxes even though I still have no income. So, I am considered filing separately, but it seems very complicated. We have one child and were separated in October. How can I pay the least amount of money and not be on the hook for anything weird he decides to do?
