Is there something about you so unusual and different, that you have yet to personally meet someone with this particular similarity?

It can be a physical characteristic, a personality trait, a hobby, a fascination, a disorder, a habit, etc.

Or perhaps it’s something you lack, like a skill, that most people don’t.

Or maybe it’s an idea/opinion about something that no one you’ve met agrees with or has ever considered before.

For the most part, it’s easy to find someone with a few of your same interests – try thinking of something that no one else you’ve had the pleasure of meeting can relate to.

For me, I rarely eat anything that tastes sweet, tangy or sour. This would include almost all hard candy (except for runts – those suckers are yummy), candy bars, cake, donuts, all pastry, cookies, all fruit, various salad dressings, dips and sauces and most breakfast foods, which is why I almost always skip breakfast. I don’t know what it is, but these tastes have never appealed to me and sometimes ruin a perfectly good meal. For example, if a piece of chicken is slathered in sweet barbeque sauce – oh man, that makes me a sad panda. I prefer to stick with saltiness or spiciness. Anything sweet, sour, tangy or bitter has no appeal, but I won’t necessarily refuse to eat it, I just never ever fill my fridge with it.
I’ve met people who don’t like chocolate, but not anyone who dislikes over half our basic tastes.

Since I was little, I’ve also had this unusual fascination with chandeliers which I haven’t quite figured out yet. I just like looking at them. There’s this chandelier shop a few blocks from my parent’s house that I’m in love with. I grew up walking around in this store in awe for hours. Considering the fact that I’m very simple, unpretentious and don’t own very many material things, I can’t get over this strange obsession I have with them. Perhaps it’s the way they’re structured and/or draped. I look at them more as an art form which I know most people don’t do. They’re just gawgeous and shiny. Yeah, shiny…maybe that’s it.

Your turn. :)
