Who was the NYC woman who got her world rocked?

Asked by ipso (4481points) June 8th, 2010

Back when mass electronic voicemail was relatively new (~1994) there was a young New York woman who left a voice message (Octel system) to a friend about her sexual escapades the night before while clubbing all night in the city. The “friend” forwarded the voice message and it ended up getting transferred throughout her company, the financials industry (me in Southern California), and beyond (eventually made the Wall Street Journal). What are some keywords to find that story?

It was magnificent – talking about escapades in a club bathroom stall and then ultimately waxing poetic about watching herself and this guy in bed via a ceiling mirror.

I think it was culturally significant in that (for me anyway) it was a first calling to a false sense of privacy.
