Selling on Craigslist, are buyers trying to scam me with their request to pay via paypal?

I’m getting loads of offers from people offering to put money in my paypal account for the amount of the purchase. Many offer more than my selling price. All sound like off shore purchasers with their poor writing style. Is there a scam going on? Is it possible to deposit money in a paypal account and then get it yanked out? What am I not seeing here?
