Who is responsible for my road?

I live in a small town that is in Broward county Florida. I have lived in home for nine years. The Town of Southwest Ranches has fixed the potholes on my road since I lived here. Recently, the town says that I’m responsible for my roads. They say that I own half of my side of the road and that my neighbor owns the other half. The town also says that I’m responsible for anyone that gets hurt on my road. If what they say is true would I be responsible 100% or would the town own half since they made the last repairs??
