Does anyone have any tips for scrapbooking?

I’m making a scrapbook for my first year of university. I go back to school in a week, plus the week is very busy, so it’s going to be a very basic scrapbook.

So, people of fluther who have made scrapbooks in the past, I ask you:

Do you have any tips for me? Do’s/Don’ts of the trade?
I already have the book/pictures/paper/some stickers, what else do I need?
About how much money should this run me?
What did you make your scrapbooks about?
