There is an injured kitten at my house. What should I do with it?

This kitten has been hanging around the neighborhood for about a week. I noticed that it was limping, but never could get close for a good look at it.
This morning after I left out some food and water for him, he came to me and let me hold him. He has a bad hip injury, I could feel that it was badly out of place. Tonight when I was feeding him again I can see a bone sticking out of his back at his hip area. I am sickened by it.
I have been trying all day to find the owner. I know he must have a family as he is so nice and wanting to snuggle in my arms.
I can’t keep this kitty, and I can’t afford to pay a vet bill for it. I need to take my own cat to the vet and I’m saving up for that.
He cries sometimes, but not all the time. He gets around and even climbs the steps. I can’t stand to think of him suffering. I don’t know what to do. I live in a small town in a rural area. There are no vets or animal shelters near me, but I could drive a distance if I had to, to get him some help. Any ideas? Please?
