Is my TomTom dead for good?

I purchased my TomTom GPS about 2 years ago and it’s suddenly gone dead. It won’t turn on, even if it’s plugged in, though the green charge light is lit up. Has anyone experienced this? Do you think heat from leaving it in the car could do it?

I can’t imagine that a somewhat expensive piece of equipment like this would fall under the “disposable” technology category, like cell phones, etc. that are only expected to last 2 or 3 years…am I wrong?
