Bing or Google? Which is the better search engine?

Asked by Aesthetic_Mess (7894points) November 11th, 2010

And why do you think what you chose is better?
What are the pros and cons of using Google over Bing? Do you think that one gets better results with certain topics than the other?
Research and educationwise, what gives you better results and is user friendly?

I have never used Bing.

I have only used Bing a few times and haven’t seen any big differences. I’m a Google guy. Google works perfectly fine for me.

Google hands down. Bing has some somewhat cool features but its still nothing on google. I just love that google is constantly evolving and getting better day by day.

I like Bing maps. 90% of the time I use Google maps, but sometimes alternative views are useful, especially the oblique overhead photos on Bing.

Google has a sense of humor. I typed in “Anagram” and it asked “Did you mean nag a ram?

Bing doesn’t even give me relevant results and seems to always want to refer me to a MS page.

Google. I don’t know wtf Bing’s deal is, but it sucks. It’s got the clutter of Yahoo! with the lack of good results like Ask Jeeves 10 years ago. Google’s clean, easy, and accurate. There is a reason it’s top.

I’ll stick with Google. Any company that gives their employees a 10% across the board raise in this economy must be doing something right.

I have to say I’m using Bing a lot more than Google now. Googles complete lack of respect for the privacy is making me a little wary about providing them with too much info.

I’m waiting for Google to acquire Microsoft and merge the two engines into Bungle before I switch.

Google all the way.

I think everyone should go to GoogleMaps to get directions from Japan to China and look at step #43.

That’s one of my reasons why Google is better.. :D

@amazingme and the driving directions from Europe to New York… kayak across the Atlantic… I tried to get the link again but I think it’s been removed.

Does Bing have the features of “Google Pirate” or “Google goth”? I think not.
