Can someone please tell me if this movie really exists?

I have an old childhood memory of an animated movie that I thought was called “The Scarlet Bear”, however I cannot seem to find anything about it on the Internet. I want to say that it is about a boy who gets scarlet fever and his teddy bear, but this is all I can remember. Can anyone help me find out what this movie actually is?

Reminds me of the Velveteen Rabbit – when the boy recovers from his scarlet fever all his toys must be burned to get rid of the bacteria, including the rabbit. I think the rabbit is saved because it cries a real tear.
