Do you know a good Calendar/Project Management software?

Asked by the_sherpa (108points) February 10th, 2011

I know, I know, it depends on what I need it for. = )

I’m looking for something pretty straightforward and intuitive to help schedule and timeline out a film production project (or 3). This software would really only be used by 1–2 people. Something that will let me see and print a Daily all the way to Annual view.

Let me know what your brains knows!

Google Calendar has great collaboration and scheduling features. I have mine set up so that I receive a notification via SMS whenever someone who I’m sharing my calendar modifies or adds a schedule block.

It seems to me that you require some sort of full-function scheduling software with task logic included to tie event / task starts and stops and drive the thing.

Microsoft Project is pretty simple and easy to learn. We use considerably more complicated programs at work, but Project isn’t bad for the type of use you mention.

“MS Project” is good if you need to keep track of assets, i.e. cameras, editing equipment…...
