Is it too much to ask for a moment of silence for those in Sendai and greater Japan?

As we go about nice and dry safe from being swept away is it too much to take time and reflect our good luck and pray for those who’s luck were not so good? Lucky us of North America if the experts are right we won’t ever see that type of devastation because out plates slide side to side or over or under the other and not vertical because the butt head to head. When you go to bed at night will you think of those who lost their homes or lives in a wall of water or under a ton of house?
