How far would you be willing to walk one-way if you did not have to?

Often to pay a bill or pick up a few items I could easily carry I will walk up to just over a half of a mile, if the distance is slightly longer sometimes I would hop on a bus. A lot of people I know would not do that and they are well able to walk, they are disabled or have trouble walking. If they have to walk that distance it because there is no other choice like getting to BART after 7am where if they find parking they will have to walk about a quarter mile to get to the train or at some event where they have to walk that distance to get to the seats. When people take their kids to the amusement park they probably walk more but don’t realize it. How far away in mile would you venture without your car from your home or job?
