Where can I find these briolette jewel rivets?

Asked by SofaKingWright (530points) April 20th, 2011

Hi,

I am in the process of making an item with my own drilled briolette gems, which I need findings/rivets to secure them to leather. I have all the materials I need, aside from these rivet holders which I cannot find anywhere, even jewellery supply magazines!

These are the rivets I am after:

If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be appreciated. I am looking for solid gold or sterling silver. Thank you!

Have you tried Rio Gems/Findings?

I was also wondering if perhaps they used a bead cap, pinch bail and soldered or pinched that to attach to a rivet? I have been looking at bails and bead caps and think I may be able to reproduce that look. Any ideas would be appreciated!

I will check out Rio Gems now.

I was unable to find it either. Do not know if this would work. Maybe you could use this brought up through the back of the fabric (a plain flat headed one) then put a bead cap upside down over the headpin using the remainder of the headpin to make a loop. Then use a matching bead cap with loop to hold the gem and attach the loops.
