Go to http://www.apartmentlinks.com/TX-Austin/apartments.html to find some good collection of apartments.

Try the paper, or just drive around Austin untill you find one.

5 years ago I moved to Austin. I stopped in one of those apartment locators the day of my interview just to see what they offered. It was a free day of them matching me to an apartment I liked. I really suggest you use them. I went with A+ only because they were near the highway.

You literally let them know everything you are looking for in an apartment and they take you around to check them out. You also can get some move in deals and discounts through these places as well.
