Personal fountain for my room?

Asked by lrk (757points) May 15th, 2011

I’m looking for a personal fountain for my room, e.g., http://www.zgallerie.com/p-2430-nikko-fountain.aspx. Ideally on the cheap ($50 or less).

Link me to some good / cheap / pretty ones, anywhere? (Ebay is acceptable.)

Oh, to clarify: a store where I could see this in person would be ideal (within the SF Bay Area, so either a chain or a store local to here), though online-only places are acceptable as well.

I see them all the time at Walgreens.

Look out for the cheaper ones the most typical compromise is a noisy whirring pump !

Someone update me on water fountains.

Is the water fountain you are looking for self-sustaining? Or, does it require standard electricity and a water source?

@john65pennington They are usually a closed system with the water added to when it it gets low from evaporation. It does require electricity.

@dabbler the whirring pump usually happens when the fountain needs water.

Walmart sells them for a reasonable price, and if I remember correctly they have a nice selection.

I recently purchased one for $25 from an import store at the mall. I haven’t noticed the motor making noise.
