My husband & I were discussing this last night and we had differences of opinion. He said ask Fluther & I agreed. :-)

Make him a bag of big colored blocks that he can put together. You could paint fun stuff on them. I loved that stuff when I was young.

we always ask the parents of our nephews what they want us to get that way everyone is happy. usually, parents have more gift ideas than money.

I would go with something educational. Books are great and it’s good to start them early. By that age they can flip through the pages and look at the pictures. Leap Frog also has a lot of different interactive educational games that they will enjoy at that age.

also simple sturdy instruments… Drums, bells, shakers, tambourines.

You could get him one of these:

Also, try to stay away from things that have alot of little peices or make noise, and his parents will love you for it!

If you go with anything noisy. I would get a bottle of Advil for the parents!

I would say ask the parents, as they’re the ones that have to find more storage to stow all the toys. Harsh but true. Get him a monkey toy, and chances are he’s already got thousands
