What types of demographics splits do most TV companies target for?

Asked by inunsure (423points) December 5th, 2011

Do they just split by class, and could you link to information of the different types of groups they split their potential audience into?

Homework question?

@Judi
What types of questions did you get in school? I’m not sure what subject this would even be for. No just curious to see what group I fall into.

Marketing or statistics. Sorry, it just looked a little like homework to me.

I have a market segmentation data set in my office that includes over 40 different market segments. That was made years ago. There are probably many more market segments by now.

These data sets are designed to be linked to other kind of information, or to help you target certain groups or to figure out how to target certain groups. These kind of data cost big bucks, usually. But they are really helpful if you want to some serious targeted marketing.
