How do you find specific pictures within a specific date and location on Twitter?

Asked by sushilovinfun (161points) March 15th, 2012

Hi,

I am trying to find pictures from Twitter for a specific search query. I am hoping to get all the pictures within the months of September and October of 2011. I would, ideally, also like to have this be only of tweets from New York City during that time period. Is there anyone who knows how to do this? I am completely lost.

Thanks!

You’d have to use the Twitter API to have a shot at doing this I believe. Two things there though

1) It’s programming, not necessarily lots of it, but not a quick thing either
2) I don’t know if they would let you specify a date range that far back though, so might be worth some research before you go that route.

If you’re really just interested in the pictures and want to find those, you might have a better shot with something like Flickr or Instagram if you have a phone that it would be compatible with.

There’s always google image search too, which will give you a wider range of options and results.

A quick google search also turned up TwiPho which I’m not familiar with and haven’t used, but sounds like what you’re looking for.
