What do I do if I haven't received my order from Ebay?

Asked by chelle21689 (7907points) April 18th, 2012

I ordered a phone online for $60. The ebay seller had good ratings and also sent me the tracking package from USPS. The tracking # said it was delivered on Monday but no one has signed for it. I don’t see it anywhere. It’s been 2 days since then and still no package. What do I do???

Contact the seller and your local UPS.
Let both know the tracking is showing the package was delivered but that you have not rec’d the package.

If this were me, I’d also open a case on ebay stating your package hasn’t arrived yet.

To do so, go to “Purchase History” on the right under Leave feedback click on “More Actions”, then “Resolve a problem”...Then “I didn’t receive my item”.

I called USPS, they finally picked up and told me they’ll double check with the carrier to see if he remembers which house he delivered it to. But if he’s like “Oh I did deliver it to 275!” of course he wouldn’t admit his mistake! Then what? Ya know?

It won’t matter, as ebay protects all purchases. I only suggested calling USPS because, one, they should be alerted to the issue and two, should have the ability to go back and see from the delivery scan where/when it was delivered to.

Okay, so I don’t get it… UPS or USPS?

In any case, very first thing is to check into your ebay and paypal accounts to see if this item was covered under Buyer Protection. Follow procedures to ensure you can claim the protection coverage.

Next, open a case in the Resolution Center on ebay. Be as detailed as possible. They make this stuff super easy and there’s tons of help topics. You could also talk about your issue in the forum to see if any ebayer veterans can help you on your way.

And then of course, you have to stay in touch with the carrier (USPS?) and get to the bottom of that tracking number. The reason this is important is because with USPS, the most common tracking number is nothing more than a delivery confirmation (meaning they scan it when they drop it, and that’s about all there is to it). With UPS, the tracking system is more detailed, and it’s not just confirming delivery, but it creates a trail and accountability for the transit and delivery.

Good luck!

Next, open a case with the carrier,
