How do i add items to the docs so i can use the stacks feature?

open up your finder window and go to your user icon in the left tool bar.
It looks like a house. Click on it.
Then you should see your downloads folder. drag it down onto the right side of your dock.

If I understand you correctly, you’re talking about the Downloads folder, right? The folder where Safari’s downloads go.

If so go to your “home” folder which is named your user name on the computer. There you’ll see the Downloads folder, drag that into the right side of the dock, right next to the trash. Hope that helps! (bri beat me to it)

You can also do this for any folder in Mac OSX, which makes it handy if you are working on a project and need to get to a folder quickly (often).
