Asked by jhatzis (11points) June 4th, 2008

I have jailbreaked my iphone and want to run Customize. I have watched all the YouTube vids on how to add Ispazio as a Source and download compatibilty patch! Problem is I can’t find the darned compatibility patch!! Please someone help me!! Don’t tell me to SSH in because I have not a clue how to do that.

I hate 1.1.4 because I can’t figure out how to downgrade to 1.1.1. or 1.1.2 in order to jailbreak.

so it still works after you jail broke it??? Any damage?

jhatzis's avatar

Works fine. Jailbreaked this last weekend using Ziphone. The only thing I can’t get is customize to work. Need the compatibility patch

@jhatzis, if you private message me what to do after you run ziphone jailbreak that would be great!!!

go to sources edit then add ipodtouched.net/repo.xml. Then go to installer and the patch should be there.. Good luck..

Exactly. You need to add ipodtouched.net/repo.xml to installer, and look for the package named 1.1.4 compatability patch. This will change your version tag to 1.1.3 and you can then download and install Customize.

Let us know if you get it working…

@wizard
What problems are you having exactly mate?

jhatzis's avatar

After adding the Source and refreshing, I am not able to find the compatibility patch. I have searched in Tweaks and Tweaks 1.1.4 and searching all packages by typing in “compatability patch”. Nothing works.

osullivanbr's avatar

are you sure that you typed in http://ipodtouched.net/repo.xml ?
After you refresh there will be another folder on your install screen called ipod Touched.
The compatability patch is the first one in that folder.

Let me know…

I found it, but do I keep the patch installed once I download customize?

osullivanbr's avatar

no after you install Customize you uninstall the patch.

jhatzis's avatar

I uninstalled the patch, but still when I open Customize I just get the chicken screen and then the app closes. Am I missing something? SHould I have something else installed?

osullivanbr's avatar

ok hang on and let me catch up. Give me a few minutes to install this and we’ll work through it together.

osullivanbr's avatar

in the meantime. If I remember correctly you need to restart the touch before Customize will work properly. Have you tried that?

jhatzis's avatar

I have an iphone. By restart do you mean turn off and back on as opposed to hard reset?

osullivanbr's avatar

turn on and off exactly

jhatzis's avatar

did that. Do I need to disable any of the stuff I have installed i.e. SMB Prefs (summer board themes, etc? )

osullivanbr's avatar

wouldn’t have thought so.

jhatzis's avatar

still no luck. When I tap the app it loads the chicken and bounces right out.

osullivanbr's avatar

you sure you uninstalled the patch mate?

If you go into Settings it tells you that you are running 1.1.4 again.

jhatzis's avatar

yes uninstalled. settings indicate 1.1.4

osullivanbr's avatar

ok is it Customize or Modded Customize you have installed…

jhatzis's avatar

I have two options Customize and Customize old

osullivanbr's avatar

go back into installer and tell me if u see an application called Modded Customize

osullivanbr's avatar

It should be in that ipod touched folder again

osullivanbr's avatar

I take it you got it sorted with that since you’ve seemed to drop off the planet for the last half hour. Anymore trouble message me and I’ll see if I can help. :-)
