Have you got any good ideas on controlling a bad and persistent nosebleed?

I’ve tried pressure for a long time, then I let it go for a bit and just let it bleed, but it’s still going. It started about two hours ago. It’s not a hemorrhage, but it keeps going. I also packed it off , three times. It soaked through each time. I’d rather avoid the ER. Any ideas? I did have some sinus issues recently.
