Why do so many people use answer sites as pregnancy or paternity tests?

After getting sick of seeing “Am I pregnant?” questions on another site, I came here and typed in the question on Fluther. I got a ton of similar questions back.
Asking random people on answer sites if you’re pregnant is as accurate as reading tea leaves or having your tarot cards read.
Pregnancy tests are CHEAP. They are more accurate than random people on an answer site guessing.
I also don’t understand why people ask who the father of their unborn child is. If the doctor won’t answer, how will random folk be any more accurate?
