@mac.com or @me.com?

Asked by stephenphl (48points) June 16th, 2008

I don’t have .Mac anymore, but mobile me looks awesome.

I’m debating on if I want an @mac.com address (register now) or an @me.com address (register later).

What is your opinion?

If you’re currently with .Mac, will you keep your @mac.com address or switch to @me.com?

From what I understand from Apples website and the keynote address, you’ll have the option to use either. That being said, I intend to keep using my @mac.com for professional purposes. I’ll probably use the @me.com one for fun stuff.

you will have the option @stocky, you will not HAVE to switch. I however will keep @mac.com because it sounds better and i like representing the mac brand a bit

Sorry your right waterskier. If you like http://mac.com better than http://me.com you can still use that address if you like, or both as well. it is however a free upgrade. You will not have to buy another subscription when it is realeased if thats what you were wondering. so there is no reason to not get a .mac subscription and wait for .me to be released

It turns out my old @mac.com address is still active. I just ordered a dotMac from http://Amazon.com to reactivate it. ($20 off Apple’s price)

If you were a .Mac member as of July 9th, you would have a .Mac email (@mac.com) and a MobileMe email (@me.com).
