American Jellies: Do you and your family have a July 4th tradition which you try to follow every year?

Do you have a July 4th tradition which you try to follow every year?

I don’t, my family never did have a particular tradition. We just go with the flow, which might mean visiting each other for a cookout, visiting friends for their cookouts, or going somewhere to watch fireworks.

I ask because I live in a little lake community, which used to be a “summers only” community. Every year on July 4th a fire truck leads a little parade of a few vehicles and bikes and people walking, waving, through the main road and onlookers watch and wave. Then all participants and anybody who lives here can go have hot dogs at a central spot. Every year, same thing, parade and hot dogs, probably for the past 60 years, and it’s quaint and kind of precious, like a little local slice of Americana. That’s what makes me ask.
