If there were only one type of food available would there be obese people?

Seeing here on Earth it would never happen, in some far off future when man explores and colonized other planets, if he doesn’t destroy himself first, the only food source is a Gray bar without smell or taste with the consistency of a brownie, but gave you everything you needed nutritionally while avoiding all the stuff nutritionist say one should not eat. Would that colony have fat obese people? I have noticed here in the US people attach food to their hunger or appetite. It seems almost as if their appetite triggers their hunger; they will say ”I feel like some chicken right now”, “I could go for a pizza”, I smell steak, I wish I had some tri tip right now, Look at that sundae, I can so eat that,” etc. Would people be spurned to eat if the food had no color, smell, or taste, it was just nutrition in a textured form? Would people sit and overeat something like that in spite that they could not taste or smell it, would they still motivated to stuff themselves, when if it is correct, smell triggers taste?
