Speaking of Christmas songs, what do you think?

Does anyone else think the lyrics to ‘Here Comes Santa Claus’ are just a wee bit strange? It seems there are categories of Christmas songs: religious type songs/hymns such as ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’, ‘Silent Night’; popular ones like ‘Rudolph’, ‘Frosty’, etc… I find it a bit jarring to have them combined.Here are the lyrics. It starts out ok, a typical Santa-type popular song, but in v. 3 and 4 we have
“Santa Claus knows we’re all Gods children
That makes everything right
So fill your hearts with Christmas cheer
’Cause Santa Claus comes tonight!”
and “Peace on earth will come to all
If we just follow the light
So lets give thanks to the lord above
That Santa Claus comes tonight!”
Give thanks to the lord above for Santa Claus? Am I missing something?
