Does anyone know what Corvus is?

I was watching this documentary on roman technology and I couldn’t exactly understand the concept of Corvus. Does anyone know what Corvus is?

Yes. Corvus was a mobile bridge, which was fixed at one particular end of a ship and at the other end; it could be targeted and dropped on to the enemy ship. This enabled the Romans to lock other nations’ ship and engage them in a hand-to-hand combat. This link is also about roman technology. I found out about corvus from here read this article it will be helpful:

Not sure. But I think it had something to do with the roman navy.
