Shall we bid a fond farewell to Ralph Waite, actor best know for his role as the father on TV's "The Walton's"?

A child in the 70’s, I grew up with the Walton kids, and John Walton was a striking contrast to my own rather cold, hands-off father.

From CNN:“Acting was only one aspect of Mr. Waite’s life. He was at various times a Marine, a social worker, an ordained Presbyterian minister, a book editor and a three-time Democratic candidate for Congress from California.”

Thanks, Ralph Waite, for many hours of wholesome entertainment.
