Do you hate empty spaces?

I remember as a kid / teen I HATED having empty spaces when I was writing a letter or something. If I had 6 inches left at the bottom it just drove me nuts and I had to fill it up! Woe unto me though, if I wound up on a second page before I was finished with what I had to say.

It’s the same thing with my cabinets. I prefer that they are used to capacity, just perfectly, if possible.

It hasn’t been any kind of problem, in fact, I’d forgotten about that propensity until today, when I was rearranging camping stuff, dishes and whatnot. I bought 3 tubs at WM. I filled one up nicely.
The second one, though, I loaded with two much smaller plastic, rectangular containers, and it has a blank space at the end of about 8 inches wide and 18 inches long and I can’t find anything to fit in there!!! MUST FILL THAT SPACE UP!

When I’m packing things, must pack just so. Find what fits in there just right.

I don’t know what it is. I guess empty space just seems like such a WASTE and goodness knows, I hate waste!

Why does that bug me so?
