If certain plants mutated, which mutations would cause more impact for society?

By pollution, human contamination certain plants developed certain attributes, such as potatoes became explosive when ripe, conifer trees when cut from the root would spew a strong acid capable of eating through 5 inch steel in a few minutes, or vines (any) would develop prickles that delivered a neurotoxin to anything stuck by it. Which of those mutations would play the biggest havoc to society?
