Is my dog being passive aggressive?

Some of you may remember a Q I asked a few months ago about Dakota seeming to be afraid to go outside. She got over that when one night she brought a big old possum up on to the deck. Rick got rid of it, and she’s been OK ever since. However, she learned then that I won’t force her to go outside.

Ever since then it’s like she’s playing head games with me! Dutchess will ask to go outside. Used to be they always went out together, but since that incident Dakota won’t go stand next to Dutchess. Instead she’ll just lay there where ever she’s laying. Then, 10 seconds after I let Dutchess out Dakota will go to the door and want out.

Just now that happened. Let Dutchess out. Dakota just looked at me when I asked her if she wanted out too. So I let Dutchess out alone. 10 seconds later Dakota got up and stood by the door. But when I opened the door to let her out, she turned away and walked back into the living room!

Can’t get mad. She’s been The World’s Best Dog for all these years, and if she wants to play some games, so be it.

Is she doing this for fun do you suppose?
