Have you ever been unloaded on item wise?

Have anyone ever gave you something and felt they were going you a favor because you may have needed what they gave you, but when you examine it closer, there was some major or noticeable blemish or defect to it?
The item might function perfectly or near so, but the defect could require unsightly tape or such. I think in part the giver had in mind to kill two birds with one stone; to save a functioning item from the landfill, and to unburden them with the item and make it my problem, all the while feeling good about them. A person I know who is a flea marketer gave me a décor wicker end table. A declarative part of the wicker was badly damage, it did not take away from the use and stability of the table but it would have hurt the sale badly. I sum it up as he gave it to me because I could use it, he did not have to dump it (costing him money), and it made him feel good also. You feel or know an incident where someone unloaded an unwanted item on you under the auspice of it being a gift?
