Will you help me decide how to be honest in this situation?

I’ve been helping my sister find a dog trainer. We met with one we liked a lot, but she was incredibly shy. As in, not able to look at our eyes, very quiet, barely asked questions, rarely smiled.

The day after, we met with another trainer. This one seemed perfect. Friendly, funny, easy-going. My sister tends to get discouraged fairly easily at the moment (we’ve been training for a long time), so we need a bit of a cheerleader if we want the best results. While I can completely empathize with shy people, we are paying a lot of money for this, and we need someone who will be able to motivate everyone.

Both trainers had good ideas, and both shared our philosophy regarding timid dogs and how to help them.

Now, the decision is an easy one – but how do I tell that first person? I don’t want to lie to her, but neither do I want to say that we are put off by her shyness. I’m not shy, but I am quiet and introverted – when people call me on that, I feel awkward, and much less at ease.

What would you do?
