Do I need to buy a European iTunes gift card? If so, how do you do this?

I think I’m so frazzled that I can’t make the Google work this afternoon. I have family members in Europe and I send them cards via email for Christmas presents. I usually send them from Amazon. If they want to buy something in German, I will shop at Amazon EU. If they want something in English, I will shop at Amazon UK. It was extremely simple and once I finally convinced myself that my credit card wouldn’t explode if I bought something using Euros instead of US dollars, I had no trouble at all.

This year, someone asked for an iTunes gift instead. I can’t seem to figure out how to find the EU or the UK store. When I try Google, I get several hits explaining how to get a US gift when you live in Europe. It didn’t look very easy. It didn’t look entirely legal, either. It involved tricking the US iTunes Store into letting you use your European account as a US account.

No offense to Germans, but this woman is VERY German. I can’t ask her what to do because she’d be offended that I didn’t already buy the gift. She’d also remember it forever and find ways to mention it at least twice a year for at least a decade. So I can’t ask her, or any of my other relatives, because they’d probably find it amusing to let her know I asked.

Anyway. I just want to know how to get someone a gift certificate they can easily use in the country they live in. I am too hyped up on pre-Christmas procrastination panic mode to figure out how to find the answer in Google.

What do I do? Help!
