Michigan Governor Gov. Rick Snyder joins Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel in pleading ignorance as justification for inaction in the face of crisis in their jurisdiction. Are you buying it?

Rahm Emanuel sought to block the Laquan McDonald video for a year, yet claims he didn’t know it contradicted police testimony until a judge forced the video’s release.
Another video, again contradicting police testimony (this one blocked from public view since 2013) has just been ordered released.

Michigan Governor Gov. Rick Snyder promised money to help fix Flint Michigan’s water problem on Oct. 2, 2015 after Genesee County officials declared a public health emergency, yet didn’t address the immediate problem until January 5th, 2016 when the Governor declared a state of emergency.

How can elected officials claim ignorance as justification for inaction in the face of public crisis?
